Mary Stringer has been the minister at Berkhamsted Baptist Church since April 2006.
Mary enjoys getting involved with groups and activities across the church – she is as likely to be sitting with the mums and babies at First Steps, talking to the Pre-School leaders, eating pizza with the teenagers or leading the service for the senior citizens at the Lunch club! Mary also leads a mid-week housegroup at her home.
Mary is a keen supporter of mission, in all its forms, both at home and abroad. She is working to establish links with local schools and associations. Mary is also passionate about prayer and has been encouraging the church to meet together to pray together during the week.

John Ball – treasurer – responsible to the church meeting, for setting budgets and dealing with all financial matters and has special responsibility for seeing that maintenance tasks on the building and manse are organised (along with Mr. Brian Livesey, another church member), completed and paid for. Does many other practical tasks around the church. Also co-leads a small group for adults with Julia.

Carla Ball – deacon – this word means, a person who serves - (until Feb. 08) with special responsibility for dealing with CRB checks, references and interviews for people working with children or vulnerable adults, child protection and health and safety policies and works closely with Julia in co-ordinating and leading the children’s activities within church life. Also leads an adult small group in church each week. Also does many other practical and spiritual tasks for the church.

Julia Stentoft – deacon – special responsibility for co-ordinating the children’s and youth activities of the church. Runs the youth group in church on Sundays and also Pizza Plus for young people at her home. Always very involved in organising special events involving children / youth and families from the community e.g. barbecues, craft days, sponsored events, all-age services. Also co-leads a small group for adults along with John.

Pat Ginger – Pastoral Care Co-ordinator – works with the minister to ensure the pastoral care team of the church runs smoothly and effectively. Takes charge of our Open Door Lunch Club for retired folk, along with Mrs. Gill Goss, another church member. Spends much time caring for those in need of prayer, care and support. Also does many other practical jobs in the church.
