The following small groups meet either weekly or fortnightly, in church or in homes, for friendship, prayer, support, bible study, asking questions on the Christian faith and discussion. Please contact the minister if you are interested in joining any particular group.
New study “Characters in the Bible” is about to start on Tuesday mornings 10 to 11.45 am in the Church.
This group is led by Carla Ball, a deacon. Please phone the minister on 01442 386277, for information and if necessary, the group leader will then contact you. They usually have some prayer time too and drinks and biscuits. But, please note: no-one is made to pray out loud or read or join in the discussion if they don’t wish to. This group is not suitable, if you are disabled, as there are steps to climb to get to the room where they meet.
Tuesday evenings 7.50 pm - in the minister’s home, from 9th October for six weeks, led by the minister – please phone Mary on 01442 386277, for more information about the venue and to tell her you’re coming. Drinks and nibbles are served on arrival for an 8pm start. The evening includes, friendship, support, discussion, learning together from the Bible and watching DVDs and the use of printed notes and a short prayer time. The subject is: “What on earth am I here for?” – a look at the meaning and purposes of our lives. Open to all, whether you have faith or none at all. No previous Bible knowledge needed. There are a few steps or a ramp up to this house.
Tuesday evenings 8 pm – Julia & John’s group – please phone the minister initially, for details about this venue and the group leaders on 01442 386277. The group leader will then contact you. Their short series is entitiled “Stop looking for the will of God.” and is about how to discover what God’s will might be for our lives. Drinks and biscuits will be served. All are welcome. There is a slope, but only one step into this home.
Thursdays 8 pm – Pat’s group – fortnightly – please phone the minister initially for information about the venue and to book a place in the group. The group leader will then contact you. The subject is The Gospel of John. Again all newcomers are very welcome. There are two or three steps to this home, but not too steep. This group uses worship, prayer, bible study and discussion and drinks and biscuits are served.
If you would be interested in joining an Alpha course, to ask your questions about the Christian faith, please phone the minister, who will willingly run one to suit the times needed of the people interested.
